Chest lock with key

Central Europe, 17th century

Malleable iron. The four-lever bolts are spring-loaded; the tension rods opening the bolts are controlled by a hollow-shank key. Individual parts are screwed onto the cutout support sheet. Octagonal case for a hollow-shank key. On the key, the shank features a ring collar, the bow is formed into a leaf, and the bit is filed into a meander pattern. Decorated with fine engraving.
